Cecil students present Digital Illustration

The work of students in Cecil College's Digital Illustration I class, taught by children's book illustrator Gail Piazza, is on display in The Gallery in the Milburn Stone Theatre on Cecil's North East campus from July 8 to Sept. 3. Combining classic illustration with the digital capabilities of Adobe Photoshop CS3, the students produced professional quality illustrations with fun and inspiring assignments. The work ranges from still lives, to self-portraits, to freelance illustrations prepared for submission to a national greeting card company.
Participating students in the show include Nancy Hughes, Emily Fairbank, John Abrahams, Autumn Dean, Daneille McLeod, Denise LaBelle, SaraBeth Carter, Stephanie Thompson, Linda Parks, Alan Smith, Kate Werner, Trula Blize, Holly Firesheets, Jessica Morgan and Eric Mumford. The Gallery in the Milburn Stone Theatre will host an opening reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25. Afterward, Cecil College's Friends and Neighbors concert series will resume with a performance by popular local band Kenny Jones and Jaded Angels in the adjoining Milburn Stone Theatre at 8 p.m. Come to the reception in the gallery; stay for the concert. The Gallery in The Milburn Stone Theatre is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by special appointment. It is also open during events in the Milburn Stone Theatre.
